Typical double-glazed glass has a layer (the hollow layer) between the panes that is completely sealed. During the day, when the temperature rises, the air inside the hollow layer gets heated and expands, causing the glass to warp, which in turn distorts the reflected image. Additionally, the hollow layer of double-glazed glass also expands and contracts due to changes in air pressure. This is the same principle as when a snack bag or a plastic bottle swells up when you go climbing. This change in air pressure is also one of the causes of the distortion in the reflected image.
